Who are we?
The Découvrir La Vie platform was created by Saxon Bosworth back in 2015, originally as more of a travel blog – with just the ambitions of inspiring travel and sharing beautiful places.
As time went on and some friends contributed to the website, it became clear that sharing stories amongst one and other brought so much more to the experience and platform.
The Documentary - Mission: Find Aral
Saxon and Nicolas Bergounioux met in July 2019 in a co-working space, in Paris. They soon developed a deep and inseparable bond: derived through their admiration of Sir David Attenborough and their fondness for travel. In January 2020, Saxon went to Romania to visit and support the Libearty Bear Sanctuary project. While he was researching bears and ecological disasters in Sibiu, Saxon discovered the story of the Aral Sea and was deeply intrigued. On his return to Paris, he described the catastrophe to Nico, prompting the generation of ideas into possible ways of growing awareness of the incredibly and surprisingly unknown tale of the Aral Sea.
In turn, they quickly discovered that even though the story of the Aral Sea was considered by former U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as “one of the planet’s worst environmental disasters”, it was paradoxically unknown by the general public. That’s how, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to quit their jobs and leave for Uzbekistan to produce a documentary, Mission: Find Aral.
Saxon and Nico have recently finished filming their documentary, currently putting the finishing touches to an incredibly important and visually stunning piece of work. The intention is to release at the start of 2022, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on both The Open House and Decouvrir La Vie's social media pages for up to date release information.

The Collaboration
Since our launch in April, The Open House has endeavoured to establish itself as a brand that leaves a mark on you, our customers, but not the environment. Whether it be through our sustainable production processes, using high quality off-cuts to limit wastage from the clothing powerhouses, or our plastic limiting packaging methods, it has always been in our DNA to operate in a sustainable way.
Through our collaboration with Découvrir La Vie, we hope to cement these intentions. With their environmental guidance, The Open House will learn more about the many communities we care so deeply about, and continue to provide a service that protects them instead of damaging them. Keep an eye on our social media platforms to stay up to date with the latest information in regards to Découvrir La Vie and The Open House’s future collaborations.
Découvrir La Vie X The Open House. A partnership for us, a partnership for you, a partnership for our planet.
